While hopes were high with Battlefield 6, Electronic Arts couldn’t catch up on delivering a campaign experience worth remembering. EA has a Royal Flush with community excitement and gameplay, but fumbled with the storyline to give Black Ops 7 a chance to fight back. Regardless, the overall experience still remains a Straight Flush.

Battlefield 6’s Disappointing Campaign Has All but Handed Black Ops 7 an Effortless Win

The main concerns with the Battlefield 6 campaign have been its poor pacing and unengaging story. But has sure managed to deliver a great visual experience, which is a plus. Only if the story were bolder than playing it safe, it sure would have sold everyone in a heartbeat.

Not only that, the story was confusing to many; in addition to that, the weak ending didn’t strike the right chords. This disappointment with the story has put all eyes on Black Ops 7

.

For a long time, Activision has been nailing the campaign storyline for Black Ops series, and the same expectations lie with the upcoming release. Moreover, the game will also feature a co-op storyline, which is a bit unique. However, it’s unknown how that would play out.

Still, don’t be super hopeful because there are times Call of Duty has failed with the campaign as well. The most notable fumble would be the campaign of Modern Warfare 3 (2023), which was roughly four hours long. If Activision does manage to overcome its flaws, then this year, Call of Duty might take the win in terms of shooter storyline.

Battlefield 6 Still Bullies Black Ops 7 on Pure Gameplay

While hopes lie on Black Ops 7 campaign, the overall gameplay experience is in favor of Battlefield 6. Campaigns are only a few hours long and are just an added movie for the multiplayer experience, which shooters are mainly known for.

A large part of the gaming community is genuinely happy about playing Battlefield 6, and even swore to boycott Black Ops 7. Sadly enough, Treyarch wasn’t able to convince players with the new multiplayer changes they are bringing with the upcoming game.

In 2025, shooter game fans are leaning towards experiencing grounded mil-sim, which Battlefield 6 aces. Not only at the game scale of combat unrivaled, which makes the multiplayer experience much more immersive. Be it aerial or ground combat, Electronic Arts surely holds the upper hand with BF6 gameplay.

Regardless, all eyes are on Black Ops 7 at the moment following the Battlefield 6 release. Do you think Activision will be able to nail both multiplayer and campaign to hold their throne? Share with us in the comments below.
