With Hermit trying to get his sister out of Neverland and Slightly serving Arthur up to a facehugger, things are about to get crazy on the base. Kirsh lied to Boy Kavalier as they returned as well, making it possible that the betrayal may come from inside the house. “Emergence” looks to continue the disintegrating relationships in Alien: Earth. Can Prodigy keep its specimens on the island? Or will Weyland-Yutani and Morrow prevail?
Alien: Earth — “Emergence” — Plot
Slightly stares at Arthur, who still has the facehugger securely around his throat. He thinks about taking the creature off, but the creature tightens its grip. Smee demands to be let into the room and is shocked when he sees Arthur’s condition. Slightly demands that Smee stay quiet because of the threat against his family. He tells his friend that Morrow promised him that Arthur would be safe once he had the creature. Smee agrees to help Slightly get Arthur to the beach.
Kirsh walks through the halls and discovers Isaac’s melted body in the lab. He can see that the other specimens are destroying the room as Prodigy soldiers walk in and stun the bugs. Boy Kavalier asks what happened, and Kirsh points out the dead Hybrid. Kirsh also alerts his boss about the role the Eye had in killing Isaac.
Wendy steps into the room and discovers Isaac’s body. She wants to tell the others, but Kavalier tells her she needs to keep this between them. She tries to storm out of the room, and when Kavalier tries to stop her, she communicates with the Xenomorph. It listens to her and bangs against the glass. Kavalier wants to get to the others before her, which alerts Kirsh that someone turned off the trackers.
Hermit joins Wendy and tells her they need to leave now while her tracker is off. She will not go without the other Hybrids, and Hermit reluctantly agrees. Wendy first stops to pick up Nibs and discovers Curly is also in the room. Nibs agrees to go with Wendy, and Curly promises not to snitch on the others as they leave. Using her electrical control, she unlocks the cages in the lab, and the Xenomorph begins killing the scientists.
Kirsh and Kavalier confront Dame Sylvia about Arthur’s actions. While she was unaware that he turned off the trackers, Kavalier can no longer trust her. The two split up when the alarms go off around the facility. Kirsh intercepts Slightly and Smee as they carry Arthur’s body. Instead of stopping them, he tells them the easiest route to the beach. “You’re going to be late.”

Wendy, Nibs, and Hermit walk along the path into the jungle, where they discover six small graves. Each marks the real names of the children before their minds were put into the Hybrids. Wendy says this is not them, but Nibs is unsure. She accepts her death, and Wendy continues to stare at her headstone as Hermit ushers them along.
Slightly and Smee hide in the grass when a Prodigy patrol arrives. After they hide, the boys are unable to find Arthur. Suddenly, the facehugger falls from the trees, and Arthur reveals himself from the bushes. He does not remember anything after Isaac/Toodles went missing, and the boys convince him to go down to the beach.
However, when they reach the beach, Arthur realizes something is wrong. He tells the boys that they do not need to do whatever they are up to. He knows they’re scared, but he’ll help them because he loves them. Smee agrees, but Slightly soon joins them.
Suddenly, Arthur stops, and a chestburster erupts from his chest. It kills their father figure, covering them in blood, before it scurries into the bushes. Smee grieves over Arthur’s body, screaming at Slightly for lying to him. Slightly grabs Arthur’s body and drags it toward his meeting place with Morrow.
Slightly and Smee drag Arthur’s corpse on a raft and arrive at the meeting point. Weyland-Yutani troopers emerge from the water, with Morrow leading the way. A second team arrives on another beach. Morrow is angry that Slightly brought Smee and even angrier that they did not come with the specimen. He tells his soldiers they need to move to the backup plan, and they take the boys at gunpoint.

Curly enters Sylvia’s office, where the doctor lies asleep in her chair. Curly cuddles up next to her and begins crying. Sylvia holds Curly and tells her it will be okay. Prodigy captures the chestburster baby Xenomorph and Morrow’s team. While Morrow threatens to shoot Slightly, Kirsh tells him not to be a sore loser. Prodigy takes him prisoner, and Kirsh grounds the boys.
Atom tells Kavlier that the Xenomorph escaped, that Wendy is gone, and that bringing the Eye to his office is a bad idea. He thinks containment should be the most critical priority, but Kavalier insists on speaking with the creature. He tests it to give him the next three digits of Pi, which the Eye not only answers, but does so by defecating. Kavalier thinks they should put the creature in the body of a scientist.
Wendy, Hermit, and Nibs wander through the jungle but are held up by the second Weyland-Yutani team. Wendy tells them to let them go, but the soldiers refuse. She coos, and suddenly, the adult Xenomorph appears from the sky, killing all the soldiers. When it’s done, the creature approaches Wendy, who calms it down and pets the creature. It leaves, and Hermit grabs a gun from the fallen soldiers.
Hermit leads Wendy and Nibs to the boats, but Siberian is waiting for him. Her soldiers threaten Nibs, who tears a soldier’s jaw clean off. The soldiers start fighting, with Wendy and Nibs throwing soldiers off without much effort. However, when Nibs is about to hurt Siberian, Hermit grabs one of the electrical guns and shoots her. Nibs falls and slowly convulses on the ground as Wendy looks at her brother with anger. “What did you do?”
Was “Emergence” worth watching?
Yes, and we’ve finally moved ourselves into the final position for the series. There have been rumors that Alien: Earth is set up as a multi-season show, and it’s hard to argue against that now. There are too many dangling threads for us to explore and too many characters left in the warpath of Morrow and Wendy. Yet watching some peak Xenomorph murder and a chestburster in this episode really showed just how violent Alien: Earth can be.

Yet the most harrowing moment of “Emergence” comes in its quietest beat. As Hermit, Wendy, and Nibs walk the path, they find the graves of the children. Kirsh has always been extremely blunt with his opinion that the children are not human but machines. This makes it hard to refute, with their literal bodies buried in the Earth. Episodes ago, Arthur made the comment, but this makes it pretty real. Prodigy killed six children and has simply found a way to program memories from an existing consciousness.
The reactions from Nibs and Wendy also speaks volumes. In the immediate aftermath of the moment, Wendy sicks a Xenomorph on soldiers, killing a dozen. She’s already let the Xenomorph loose in the Prodigy labs as well. Her body count just shot up very high, very fast. Her anger towards Hermit is concerning as well. Between seeing Isaac’s body and then her own, the emotional journey Wendy was on in “Emergence.” As the title suggests, she is becoming something beyond what even Boy Kavalier ever expected.
Watch Alien: Earth on FX on Tuesday nights. It is available to stream on Hulu the next day. “Emergence” aired on September 16, 2025.
