The One Piece Remake Release Details: Every Thing WIT Studio Wants You to Know

By Richard Moore 10/14/2025

When WIT Studios announced the remake of the One Piece anime by Toei Animation and Eiichiro Oda, fans were a little confused about why the series would get a redo when the original anime is such a big hit. It was later revealed that THE ONE PIECE was, in a simple sense, a better adaptation of the story, allowing the franchise to gain new fans who were initially afraid to watch the series because of its length.

However, since its announcement, there have been little to no updates about the remake. One Piece fans don’t even know when the series will actually come out or what aspects of the narrative it will cover. Still, there are some details that WIT Studio and Netflix have revealed about the One Piece redo.

When Can We Expect The One Piece Remake to Release?

The One Piece remake was announced during Jump Festa 2024 to mark the anime’s 25th-anniversary celebration, and as expected, it shook the internet. It was also revealed that The One Piece will be the first full-length readaptation of the narrative, and it will follow the original anime, which will also run along with it, but cover a different part of the story. However, aside from these developments, not much is revealed about the series.

While the production details and concept arts of the upcoming adaptations have been shared with One Piece fans, the most-awaited announcement is that of the release date. Once the release date is confirmed, the series will get more hype, but it doesn’t look like WIT Studio will be making an official announcement soon. Still, considering the ongoing developments, it is safe to assume that the series will most likely come out sometime next year.

2026 will be a big year for the franchise, and with The One Piece remake along with other developments, it is bound to bring in more popularity and fame. One Piece, as a series, has been running for almost 30 years, and the upcoming remake adaptation will help fans get a better understanding of the story in a modified way.

Everything That Wit Studio Has Officially Revealed About The One Piece Remake

WIT Studio and Netflix have released a couple of teasers and trailers for The One Piece, which have given us some insight into the series and what it will look like. According to reports, The One Piece will adapt the manga starting from the East Blue Saga. While the exact number of episodes for the remake has not been officially confirmed, the production has been working with a target of around 25 episodes for the first saga of the story.

Masashi Koizuka, known for Attack on Titan, will serve as the director of the remake, and character designs and animation will be under Kyoji Asano
and Takatoshi Honda. The art direction will be controlled by Tomonori Kuroda, and the composition will be developed by Taku Kishimoto. It is likely that the series will feature the same voice actors from the original One Piece anime.

The One Piece remake has received Eiichiro Oda’s blessing, with the creator granting the production team full creative freedom to reimagine the story. Hopefully, we will get a better adaptation of the East Blue Saga, and One Piece fans will enjoy it as much as they did the original series.
