Heather Rae El Moussa (née Young) has been part of Netflix‘s real estate reality TV show, Selling Sunset, since Day 1. However, the actress departed after Season 7, after appearing in only a handful of scenes. The reason she did not have a prominent role in the seventh season was that she was on maternity leave.
While the seventh season wrapped up, the actress revealed in an interview with E! News that she was reportedly never called back. Remarking that it was frustrating to not know what was going on, she eventually made her peace with it.
Later, during an appearance on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast, she remarked that it was a blessing not to be called back to the show. Stating that she was pretty happy starring with her husband, Tarek El Moussa, on the HGTV show The Flipping El Moussas, she revealed that Selling Sunset was pretty demanding and toxic to film.
Will Heather Rae El Moussa Return for Selling Sunset Season 9?
Following her run on Selling Sunset, Heather Rae El Moussa went on to headline The Flipping El Moussas, a home renovation series with husband Tarek El Moussa. However, the HGTV show was cancelled.
Following the cancellation, the actress recently remarked to US Weekly that there is a chance she might make an appearance in the real estate reality TV show.
If I was to ever go back, it would be with Selling Sunset [and not Selling the OC] — just because that was my group. We were all an office and friends before Selling Sunset was even a show.
As for the cast of the reality TV show, she remarked:
I have a rapport with them, I have loyalty with them and I have a lot of history with them. So if I want to go back, it would be Selling Sunset and not Selling the OC.
She also talked about whether it has been difficult to watch the show following her departure.
It’s almost not as difficult [to watch the show now]. Because I’m not part of it, I get to watch from the sidelines as a fan as opposed to being in it. But I might make a cameo in this coming season. So you have to stay tuned.
Teasing that she might make a guest appearance or a cameo, the reality TV star remarked that fans have been asking for it, and it might be a good time to come back.
Heather has been with the Oppenheim Group way before Netflix featured the company on Selling Sunset. The reality TV show began in 2019 with Heather, Chrishell Stause, Mary Bonnet, Jason Oppenheim, Brett Oppenheim, Maya Vander, and Christine Quinn as the original cast.
When Will Selling Sunset Season 9 Premiere?
The real estate reality television show Selling Sunset will be returning for Season 9 on October 29, dropping exclusively on Netflix. The new season of the show will once again focus on purchasing and selling high-end properties in Southern California.
Depicting how harsh the real estate landscape could be, the night season will reportedly pick up right where the eighth season left off (via Tudum). While Heather’s cameo remains a mystery, the ninth season will bring back several new and returning faces.
Those returning include Chrishell Stause, Chelsea Lazkani, Emma Hernan, Nicole Young, Bre Tiesi, Mary Fitzgerald Bonnet, Amanza Smith, Alanna Gold, and Jason and Brett Oppenheim. As for new cast members, real estate agent and also the cousin and adoptive sister of Sofia Vergara, Sandra Vergara, will be making an entrance.
