Dune 2 actor Timothee Chalamet isn’t around here to hang out as he talks about Marty Supreme and the immense efforts that it took him to get to the stage where he is presiding now.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor revealed that the story of Marty Mauser (from Marty Supreme) was relatable to him because Chalamet found himself looking in a mirror about his 20s, where the ambition was relentless and the projects were odd.
Some people are fortunate enough to stumble into their success or be passive about their pursuit of whatever they want to do in life. That wasn’t it for me.
He continued,
For me, it was putting in the 10,000 hours. It was dropping out of college. It was taking a risk. It was pursuing projects that were untraditional at first — at the time, it was kind of radical, the choices I was making when I was 20.
Chalamet’s efforts of putting in 10,000 hours and all the efforts are indeed visible since the film’s recent premiere at the NYFF has left critics and fans stunned because of the actor’s performance.
Marty Supreme First Reactions Showcase Timothee Chalamet’s “10,000 Hours”
Following the film’s premiere at the NYFF, Marty Supreme received praise and rave reviews from those lucky enough to have witnessed the film earlier.
One point of importance for critics and fans alike was Timothee Chalamet’s acting. Taking to various platforms, critics praised Chalamet’s acting skills and opined that the role was tailor-made for the star, while some even claimed that Marty Supreme was Chalamet’s finest performance yet.
Considering that Chalamet exclaimed that Marty Mauser’s story is essentially his story during his 20s, it seems evident that Chalamet has worked countless hours to nail that role to perfection.
Josh Safdie, the director of Marty Supreme, had a funny answer when asked about Chalamet’s role in the 2025 film.
Josh Safdie Jokes His Film Would Be “Hitler’s worst nightmare”
While talking about his upcoming movie, director Josh Safdie (who is the brother of Benny Safdie, the director of The Smashing Machine), revealed to THR that his goal was to make the movie as large as possible.
According to the director, since the film was being made from Marty’s point of view, who is a Jewish American, the film is “Hitler’s worst nightmare”.
I wanted to honor Marty Mauser’s dream to make it the greatest sport in the world. I like imagining an alternative path of history where the sport did become as big as tennis — and I had to act that way because I was making it from Marty’s point of view.
He continued,
I’m Hitler’s worst nightmare.
Considering the movie’s hype and anticipation, Marty Supreme seems like a fine piece of cinema. The only thing that we can do is wait and watch when it is released to the world.
