By Andrew Jones 10/06/2025

A trailer for Lynne Ramsay‘s Die, My Love, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson in the lead, has dropped, giving us more glimpse at the main conflict of the story. Based on Ariana Harwicz’s book, the story revolves around Grace’s battle with psychosis in rural Montana in the wake of motherhood. The logline for the movie reads:

Hopeful young and loving couple Grace and Jackson (Lawrence and Pattinson) move from New York to an inherited house in the country. Grace, a writer, tries to find her identity with a new baby in the isolated environment. Yet as she begins to unravel, it’s not in weakness but imagination, strength and a stunning untamed vivacity that she discovers herself anew.

With the great Martin Scorsese, who personally asked Lawrence to play Grace, backing the movie, the latter truly shines as Grace in the new trailer.

Tension Builds Between Lawrence and Pattinson in Die, My Love Trailer

The trailer opens with Grace and Jackson riding in a car. Things soon escalate amid the former’s struggle with newfound responsibilities as a mother. In a later car ride, Grace, much more jaded, asks Jackson when the last time they got intimate, suggesting things have become much more stale since the couple welcomed a child into their lives.

What follows is rising tensions and arguments between the two, with Grace even saying that the main character in her book kills her husband. From banging her head into glass to walking through the field with a gun, it’s safe to say fans are in for an enthralling experience.

Given Lynne Ramsay’s track record, who is adapting the movie from a script by Enda Walsh, Alice Birch, and Ramsay herself, fans shouldn’t expect anything less.

Die, My Love Director Was Behind Two Greatest Psychological Thrillers of the 2010s

Lynne Ramsay is no stranger to helming psychological thrillers. More importantly, she delivered some of the best movies the genre has to offer, first with 2011’s We Have to Talk About Kevin, which successfully nails the tone of Lionel Shriver’s novel, the movie is based on. It explores the mother’s horrors after uncovering the heinous acts of her psychopathic son.

2017’s You Were Never Really Here is another revered thriller from the director. The plot revolves around a mercenary, haunted by his past, tracking down victims of s-x-trafficking, and the story dives deeper into his struggle with trauma.

Even though Ramsay’s works might not be everyone’s cup of tea, given her acclaimed run, we are undoubtedly in for another wild ride with Die, My Love.
