Swifties were quick to pounce on the album – on just its release day, Oct. 3, 2025, The Life of a Showgirl sold a whopping 2.7 million copies of physical and digital versions of the album, according to initial reports from Luminate, as reported by Billboard.

Standing at around 3.4M copies sold during the writing of this article, it looks like Swift will be breaking the record held by Adele’s 25

, which stands at 3.7M sales in the opening week.
