Everyone’s waiting for the big episode finale of Peacemaker Season 2, and fans are undoubtedly asking whether it will give a major hint at what’s next for the DC Universe. James Gunn did not hesitate to reveal via Threads:
“More than tease!”
Peacemaker Season 2 plays a crucial role not only in bridging the old DCEU with the new media empire, but it will also significantly impact the entire franchise from hereon. That said, Gunn’s statement could also mean some characters might surprisingly return to the fold.
Despite having one episode left, the last chapter is expected not only to set up the stage for a potential third season but also to make things clearer, especially with the involvement of the multiverse.
James Gunn Discreetly Hinted At DCU’s Future Way Before Peacemaker Season 2
Gunn has already revealed before Season 2’s premiere that the second installment of Peacemaker
Speaking with Rotten Tomatoes, he explained that he designed the show as both a standalone and a link that connects to his other projects, completing the franchise as a whole picture.
It is connected to this bigger story, and where this season goes is incredibly important to the DCU in general, and where we’re going.
That makes Season 2 a lot more interesting; Episode 6 had a surprise cameo from Lex Luthor, a brief scene, yet super important for what’s to come in the Superman franchise. The outcome of his deal with Rick Flag Sr. also makes for a highly anticipated event.
We’ve had many explosive scenes and revelations in Season 2, and the show isn’t over yet. Fans can expect the series to end on a powerful note, especially with the jaw-dropping ending of Episode 7.
What Fans Can Expect From Peacemaker Season 2 Finale
After the previous episode’s dramatic climax, fans are eager to know what they can look forward to in the conclusion.
Peacemaker and the 11th Street Kids have narrowly escaped Earth-X, but the show could still explore more of the Nazi dimension. Keith Smith could also be plotting a revenge scheme. Furthermore, Rick Flag Sr. now possesses a dimensional portal, and whatever he could find there could be of use to the plan he’s hatching with Lex Luthor.
Gunn previously gave a vague hint about some of the characters here continuing forward, but not exactly in Peacemaker 3, which means they could show up in other DC series. Episode 8 is expected to clarify this statement from him.
