Taylor Swift opens up about how Travis Kelce proposed to her with the perfect ring that she loved. Kelce picked out the ring after remembering what Swift had mentioned to him 18 months ago. Swift appeared on the U.K. radio show, Heart Breakfast, and shared how much effort the NFL player put into their engagement ring.
When the hosts asked to see her ring, she showed them the beautiful ring and shared that Kelce designed the ring with the jeweler, Kindred Lubeck, who does all of her gold engraving by hand. Interestingly, Swift had mentioned Lubeck to Kelce a year and a half ago. She shared how Kelce listened to her and remembered her choice. The Anti-Hero singer shared:
I had shown him a video, I just thought her stuff was so cool, I had shown him a video like a year and a half ago and he was just paying attention to everything it turns out because when I saw the ring I [gasped] … I was like, ‘I know who made this, I know who made this,’ and also, you listen to me!
Swift further shared that she didn’t know at the time what kind of engagement ring she wanted. She shared, “It was like, you really know me. I didn’t know what I would want, but he did somehow, and that’s kind of a flex.” Their floral-filled proposal had gone viral on social media on August 26.

Travis Kelce made a grand proposal in the midst of a floral-filled garden, and Taylor Swift said yes when he popped the question. They announced their engagement on Instagram, sharing, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Kelce proposed with a $550,000 ring, which he designed with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry (via Fortune). Swift shows off the Old Mine brilliant cut stone in a series of photos, announcing the engagement. It is reportedly an 8-carat diamond in a handcrafted 18k yellow gold setting.
The ring is adorned with needlepoint prongs, smaller accent diamonds, and fine engravings. Estate Diamond Jewelry‘s Benjamin Khordipour estimated the ring’s price while describing it as “a throwback to the Victorian Era.” He also crowned it as his “favorite celebrity sparkler of the year.”

Travis Kelce discussed the engagement with his brother, Jason Kelce, during his recent appearance on the New Heights podcast. He shared, “It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with.” He also added, “I still get giddy. Exciting times. It’s still fresh.”
Kelce also addressed the engagement during a press meet ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs’ match against the Los Angeles Chargers. He shared (@ByNateTaylor / X):
I got one more ring from it. Ever since I’ve been dating Taylor, life has been fun, it’s been exciting. Obviously, a lot more eyes — and I accept that. I’m living life on a high.
During the New Heights podcast, he also thanked “everybody that reached out and sent something.” He shared that he had “so much fun” seeing how the internet went crazy over the news of his engagement.
