My Dress-Up Darling season 3 is not releasing anytime soon, since there has been no official announcement. Lately, it has become commonplace for anime sequels to be announced right after the finale. Unfortunately, that was not the case with season 2 of My Dress-Up Darling. The season finale had everything, from cosplay and horror to wholesome interactions.

Marin was about to confess her love, right when the cliffhanger hit! What happens next? When will Marin finally confess to Gojo? The excitement is high, and questions are buzzing among fans. So, when does season 3 release?

The Lack of Updates on My Dress-up Darling Season 3 Is Concerning

My Dress-Up Darling anime has concluded for the time being with season 2’s finale. Once again, Marin and Gojo’s love story failed to reach a conclusive point. However, the finale was full of heartwarming interactions between the two, from Gojo doing Marin’s makeup to the walk back home. While Marin couldn’t confess her love, she managed to get a cute selfie with Gojo.

Gojo isn’t the only one drawn to Marin, but Akira also spoke about her feelings. And the Coffin cosplay was a huge success, as expected. With such sweet developments, how can one not look forward to My Dress-Up Darling season 3? As anticipated as the sequel is, it’s still nowhere in sight.

Moreover, the finale made for a great conclusion, which raises concerns about the anime’s future. Is the selfie the final interaction for the power couple in the anime? Probably not. While the absence of an official announcement is saddening, the track record of the anime inspires hope.

The second season of My Dress-Up Darling anime was also announced in April 2022, nearly six months after the first season’s conclusion. So there’s clearly hope for more of Gojo and Marin!

What Does the Future Look Like for My Dress-up Darling Anime

My Dress-Up Darling manga by Shinichi Fukuda has a total of 115 chapters with an extra chapter 115.5. The manga finished earlier this year, in March. Season 2 adapted up to chapter 86 of the manga. With that, the anime only has 29 unadapted chapters left.

Both seasons of the anime have adapted around 40 chapters in 12 episodes each. So, it’s safe to assume that there might not be enough chapters left for season 3. Even for a 12-episode-long season, the anime is almost 10 chapters short. The pacing and animation quality have been lovely so far, and it wouldn’t be wise to drag the story to reach a certain episode count.

Instead of another season, the anime could conclude with OVA episodes or a movie adaptation. In any case, the possibility of a third season is still there. On both the cosplay and slice-of-life fronts, My Dress-Up Darling has been satisfying. Season 3 could work its magic for the romance. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

My Dress-Up Darling is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll.
