HoYoverse, the studio behind Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero, is back with a new game. And this time, the company is venturing into new territory with Petit Planet, its first-ever life simulation game. Sign-ups for the game’s beta are up, and this is everything you need to know.
Officially revealed on September 25, 2025, during the Tokyo Game Show, the game combines cozy farming and crafting with a cosmic twist. In this game, we’ll get to design and nurture our own miniature planet, connect with neighbors across the stars, and explore a galaxy full of secrets.
How to Sign Up for the Petit Planet Closed Beta
The studio has dubbed its first test phase the “Coziness Test”, and it’s now open for registration. Here’s how you can sign up for a chance at getting early access:
Coziness Test Sign-Up Event Notes & FAQ
Dear players,
The Coziness Test is Petit Planet's first small-scale closed beta with a data wipe.

Filling out the questionnaire doesn’t guarantee a spot, but it puts you in the pool of potential testers. Based on the studio’s past betas, registration will likely remain open for a couple of weeks, though no official end date has been confirmed yet.
In addition to the beta, pre-registration is also live. We must note that this is separate from the beta sign-up. Pre-registration usually comes with bonus rewards at launch, usually in-game currency or exclusive decorative items. So if you want to maximize your rewards when you start playing the game at launch, you’d better get it done now.
What is Petit Planet?
Petit Planet is HoYoverse’s take on a game with the style of Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, but with a cosmic twist. Instead of tending a village or farm, we will take care of our own miniature planet. As we progress, we’ll get the help of Luca, the planet’s vitality, which will shape the environment of the planet.

And like most life sims out there, we’ll have the chance to meet some new people. Of course, we can also expect to have all the fun day-to-day activities we usually get. The official press release has confirmed that we’ll be getting planting, fishing, beachcombing, mining, cooking, and crafting. We’re sure this just scratches the surface, and there will be more once the game launches.
Of course, a game like this wouldn’t be complete without some exploration. We will be able to hop into our vehicles and go on Starsea Voyages. We’ll be able to explore the world and find hidden recipes, rare creatures, and even new Neighbors.

As for online features, we’ll have the Galactic Bazaar, which is a hub where players can chat over coffee, join festivals, or simply hang out with friends in a shared cosmic space. Combined with the studio’s trademark high production values and frequent updates, it’s looking good from this early reveal.
