It’s official, gamers, Forza Horizon 6 is on the way. At Tokyo Game Show 2025, we got our first tease of the upcoming title. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any gameplay or other details for the game, which makes it tricky to predict things like the hero (cover) car.
However, we, and many in the community, have a few solid reasons to believe it’ll be the Nissan Skyline GTR (R35). Why is that the case? Well, rewatch the trailer as the hints are hard to notice.
Nissan Skyline GTR (R-35) Might Be Forza Horizon 6’s Hero Car
Skip to the 0:43 mark in Forza Horizon 6‘s teaser, and you’ll catch the sound of an engine firing up and roaring in the background. For those who don’t know much about cars, it might seem like another generic engine noise. However, car enthusiasts know that it’s the flutter of a V6.
Now, considering the fact that Forza Horizon 6 is set in Japan, it’s only natural to expect that the hero car will come from Japan. And what’s the most iconic modern JDM with a V6 under the hood? It’s none other than the Nissan Skyline GTR (R-35) with the iconic Twin-Turbo VR38 engine. Basically, this is a buffed-up version of the regular V6 hand-built by Nissan.
Don’t think we’re the only ones rambling on this, as plenty in the community are also speculating towards the same theory. But if it doesn’t really pan out, another strong candidate for Forza Horizon 6‘s hero car is the Lexus/Toyota LFR Prototype.
After all, Forza Horizon has a history of featuring new cars on its covers. Just take a look at the Mercedes AMG-1 in Forza Horizon 5, the McLaren Senna in Forza Horizon 4, and the Lamborghini Centenario in Forza Horizon 3.
Another thing to keep in mind is that Forza Horizon 6 might not just stick to one hero car. We’ve seen the past games in the franchise at least have two vehicles on their covers, so it’s quite possible that we’ll see another car sharing the spotlight this time.
Forza Horizon 6 Teaser Is Filled With Small Details
There are tons of other things that’ve caught our and the community’s attention in the Forza Horizon 6 trailer. If you pause at the 0:11 mark in the teaser, you’ll notice a yellow license plate at the top that reads ‘Flynt’. That’s our antagonist from Forza Horizon 1, Darius Flynt.
Just below, the plate ‘446-RHM1’ is likely a reference to Rossmore House in the YK, which is the home of developer Playground Games, where the Forza Horizon series is made. Another French plate, ‘MI-111-ER’, seems to refer to Ben Miller, who was the host of Forza Horizon 2.
Going ahead, we have a European plate that reads ‘AV 10LMB’, which looks to be a reference to the V10 Lamborghini Huracan, which was the hero car of Forza Horizon 2. Following that, we have a New South Wales plate ‘CEN-12’, which is clearly a Lamborghini Centenario.
Then there’s the ‘4S K3IRA’, which is Keira Harrison from Forzreferringon 3 & 4, and the Mexican plate that reads ‘EL-J3F3’ is referring to Papa Fernando. The final license plate just before the camera shifts to Mount Fuji says ‘Legend’ in Japanese.
