Battlefield 6 has had one of the smoothest FPS launches in recent times, with stable servers, polished gunplay, and far fewer bugs than fans expected. But the developer isn’t stopping there.
The studio has already confirmed that it’s listening closely to player feedback and plans to fine-tune the experience with post-launch updates. And the community isn’t laying low on the requests. Here are five major multiplayer changes players want in the first post-release patch.
1. Bigger Maps and Expanded Play Areas
Battlefield is always known for scale, but many players feel that the current 9 maps in Battlefield 6 are not big enough, or some are too small. Tight borders and strict out-of-bounds zones on the map make large-scale battles feel smaller than they should be, limiting the freedom that defines the series.
Players want to expand existing maps by widening the playable areas, spacing out objectives, and creating more room for vehicles to maneuver (especially the Air ones). This change wouldn’t just restore the feel of Battlefield 3 and 4, but also open up new tactical possibilities for long-range infantry warfare.
2. Reintroduce the Squad Command and Request Order System
While the feel and the aesthetics of the Battlefield are back with BF6, players are still missing one of the most beloved mechanics: the classic squad command system. Players now want it back with the iconic commo rose that allows quick and intuitive order requests.
The system promotes coordination without requiring voice chat, keeping matches dynamic and strategic. If DICE reintroduces it, especially incorporates it with the new ping system, it would strengthen squad coordination, bringing back that sense of organized chaos.
3. Fairer XP and Boost Timer Behavior
There are very few things that frustrate players more than losing precious XP boost time while being stuck in menus or matchmaking. Currently, Battlefield 6’s XP and double XP boosts continue to tick down even when not in an active match.
Fans argue that these timers should only count while the player is deployed on the battlefield. It’s a simple fix that respects player time, especially for those affected by long queue times or unexpected disconnections.
DICE could easily remedy this by pausing boosts outside gameplay, as it was present in previous games as well.
4. Revive Counter and Expanded Scoreboard Stats
Battlefield has always put team play at the forefront and even rewarded teams with one. Now, fans want that recognition back in the form of an improved scoreboard. Players are asking for a revive counter to return at the end of the match statboard.
It’s a small stat but a very meaningful one that highlights the importance of medics and support roles. Alongside this stat, the community wants further expanded tracking for key support actions like heals, resupplies, spot assists, and objective captures.
Such transparency in the stats not only makes matches more engaging but also encourages players to contribute in more ways than just kills and deaths.
5. Improved Muzzle Flash and Visual Clarity
While Battlefield 6’s visuals are impressive, some players find the flashiness of the muzzle flashes and bloom effects way too overwhelming, particularly on anti-air tanks and turrets.
Due to this, it becomes difficult to track enemies or aim effectively during intense firefights. Fans are now calling DICE to tone down the lighting effects a bit.
In the end, Battlefield 6 is already in great shape in terms of gameplay and visuals, but these five community-driven changes could elevate it to the next level.
