2XKO – Release Date, Beta, Platforms & Gameplay Explained

2XKO is one of the most hyped free-to-play releases that’s set to launch later this year, bringing some of the most iconic Champions from Riot Games’ League of Legends and Arcane into the world of tag fighters. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2v2 fighter.

When Is 2XKO Launching?

So when is Riot’s highly anticipated 2D fighter coming out? Well, 2XKO is confirmed to release this year, but a release date hasn’t been announced yet. The 2v2 fighter is also confirmed to be free-to-play. Game director Shaun Rivera has confirmed via a dev Q&A hosted in the game’s official Discord server that the game will launch with ten Champions (as per VG247), out of which nine have been revealed so far:

• Blitzcrank
• Vi
• Jinx
• Braum
• Ahri
• Darius
• Ekko
• Yasuo
• Illaoi

As time goes on, Riot will add more characters as they have over 140 Champions to choose from in the League of Legends universe. At launch, you’ll be able to enjoy 2XKO with ten Champions, including Arcane fan-favorites such as Jinx, Ekko and Vi.

When Does 2XKO’s Closed Beta Begin?

2XKO’s Closed Beta begins today exclusively on PC, and players can have a chance to be invited to the Beta by signing up on the game’s website. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players will have to wait a bit longer, but the best part is that there will be cross-progression at launch. This means if you play the Closed Beta on PC, you can pick up where you left off on your console when the full game is released.

Invitations will be sent to new players at the start of the Closed Beta and while the Beta is ongoing. If you’re one of those players who played on console during the initial playtest, you’ll automatically have access to the Closed Beta via the Riot Client on PC. You’ll also have access to it if you’ve played in Alpha Lab 1 or 2 on PC.

As for a potential Open Beta for the 2×2 fighter title, nothing has been confirmed so far. If you’ve missed out on your chance to get into the Closed Beta, you can still get a code if your friend who’s already in the Beta shares an invite code with you. Otherwise, register on the game’s website and hope for the best.

All Platforms 2XKO Is Launching On

Riot Games has already confirmed that the highly anticipated next-generation 2v2 fighter will be available for multiple platforms, making it a multiplatform fighter title that can be enjoyed by all players who own next-generation hardware. Here’s the complete list of platforms 2XKO will be launching on:

• PlayStation 5
• Xbox Series X|S
• PC

While the Closed Beta is available only for PC, both PS5 and Xbox players will have their time to shine soon, when the game releases later this year.
