The Outer Worlds 2 is about having fun and ditching the starting gear as soon as you find something new and better. Since you are looking to dominate the playing field with some quirky weapons, we have made a list of the ten best weapons that you can unlock early in The Outer Worlds 2. 1. Rattler
At number one, we have the Rattler, which is basically a legendary revolver that you can get pretty early in The Outer Worlds 2. By default, this gun has the snake shot ability, which means that instead of firing a single bullet cartridge, the cartridge is divided into eight small pieces, effectively acting like a shotgun shell.
What is more interesting is that you can make the gun even stronger by applying a Shock Barrel, which will make the bullets conduct electricity. One of the downsides of the Rattler is that it has a very high reload time because you are basically using a revolver as a shotgun. You can buy this weapon from the Fairfield Commissary Vendor.
2. Silenced Machine Pistol
At number two, we have the Machine Silenced Pistol, which can be found near a camp in the middle of Paradise Island, behind a trailer. While the pistol is not a legendary weapon in itself, if you are playing a stealth build or an assassin build, then this weapon is a must-have.
This Silenced Machine Pistol is something that you need for both long-range and short-range combat, plus there is also a silencer mod that is already attached to the revolver, so you don’t have to buy it from the vendor.
3. Emergency Stop
At number three, we have a repeating rifle, known as the Emergency Stop, which is one of the best legendary weapons in the early game. This rifle shoots shock rounds, which deal massive damage on their own, and it also features the “Big Red Button” mod, which increases the critical hit chance by +5 %. Additionally, critical hits from this weapon can stun Automechs.
To find this weapon, you need to complete the side quest called “The Saga of the Malfunctioning Mechanicals,” where you need to collect some automechanical parts, which you can find just below the town in the “Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center” area.
4. Shrink Ray
Next up, we have the Shrink Ray, which basically does what it is supposed to do, which is to shrink people. This gun can shrink your enemies to literally a boot-stomping level, and it is one of the fun guns in The Outer Worlds 2 that actually makes The Outer Worlds 2 more hilarious.
Make sure that you don’t use this weapon against normal NPCs because they will instantly turn hostile towards you, and if the enemy is powerful enough, then they can just tank the entire shrinking process and instead deal a bit of damage. There is also a chance that they will get stunned.
5. Thunderstruck
At number five, we have the weapon, Thunderstruck, which is one of the coolest weapons in the game, and if you ever decide to do a melee build in The Outer Worlds 2, then you should definitely try this weapon out. This weapon causes your charged attack to launch a thunderous projectile that shocks enemies as it passes.
To find this weapon, you need to get on top of the Skycutter, where you will find a large hammer lodged on the wall. To retrieve it, you will need to head over to the main computer area and power up the facility. After you do that, you will be able to retrieve the hammer from the wall.
6. Chainspark Cannon
At number six, we have the Chainspark Cannon, which is a long gun weapon in The Outer Worlds 2, which is the prototype variant of the Shock Cannon, and is capable of firing huge blasts of electricity that chain and travel between enemies.
This weapon is dropped by Montelli after you defeat him or convince him to stand down in the Vox Relay Station. While this weapon is pretty cool, it burns through ammo pretty quickly, and defeating Montelli can feel like a challenge for some.
7. Zyraniator
At number seven, we have the Zyraniator, which is a gun that stacks up and deals more and more damage the longer you shoot, with the help of Zyranium. So as you shoot your target more, the higher the damage will stack on the gun, and you will be able to deal more damage. You can also couple this with the Time Dilation ability to shoot longer.
To get the Zyraniator in The Outer Worlds 2, you simply go and purchase the gun from the vendor at the Automech facility, so technically, you can buy this legendary gun as soon as you get to that part of the map.
8. The Goomerang
At number eight, we have the Goomerang, which is a bio weapon that deals corrosive damage and has the mod Bio-Barrage, which basically fires a barrage of wacky goo blobs that ricochet off walls, and it also locks on and homes towards enemies. Although it does consume a lot of ammo, the Goomerang makes sure that your enemies don’t get back up.
To find this weapon, you need to go north of the map, where you will find a Rift Anomaly near a watchtower, and you need to interact with the Rift Anomaly to find the weapon inside the crate. You can only open these anomalies after a fair bit of playing The Outer Worlds 2.
9. Kaur’s Koroder
At number nine, we have the Kaur’s Koroder, which is a ranged pistol in The Outer Worlds 2, and it deals Corrosion damage, similar to Goomerang. This weapon also debuffs enemies, which deals more damage, plus the projectiles also bounce off surfaces and enemies, so you can technically hit an enemy twice if you angle it correctly.
To acquire this weapon, you need to help Kaur during The Saboteur of Paradise main quest, and you will be able to get the weapon if you choose to help Kaur instead of Milverstreet during this quest.
10. The Last Whisper
Lastly, at number ten, we have the Last Whisper, which is a silenced pump-action shotgun in The Outer Worlds 2. This weapon fires plasma pellets that can literally disintegrate targets, but that is not even the best part. The best part is that the weapon literally deals an insane +150% damage when you are in stealth.
To acquire this weapon, you need to travel to the northwestern part of Praetor, where you will find another Anomaly Rift. Once you interact with the Rift, it is going to spawn a bunch of enemies, and after defeating them, you will be able to access a locker, where you will find the Last Whisper.
